Dianna Coffman July, 2017

I visited several facilities before deciding on Solano Life House. The administrator, Mary and her staff are very welcoming and caring. From the first day, my mother has felt at home at Solano Life House. She has actually gotten better since she came to live at Solano Life House. Although she has only been here a short time, she interacts with everyone and the staff is very caring with her. She now goes on outings and there are scheduled activities that the residents do every day with activity directors. I recommend this facility for anyone who is looking for a small facility with a caring staff who really care about their residents.

Thank you for caring for our dad. I just wanted to tell you thank you for taking such good care of my dad. I was able to see the place one time because I was just visiting from Tennessee. I was so very impressed by the cleanliness, caring staff and willingness to answer our questions. It's difficult to place your dad into a care home, but I am so glad he is with you. I know he is as safe as possible.

Almost ready to move in. At the time we toured and many visits afterward, there were no rooms available. The community has 38 residents. The first time I stopped by, there was a long table with guests and the residents were getting ready for lunch. On another mid-afternoon I saw the residents sitting watching tv in a nice sized room for the residents.

We had our mom at home thinking it was the right thing to do. But she wasn't happy. We did a search for what we learned was memory care and we saw a lot of large corporate facilities that we weren't comfortable with. Then we chanced upon Solano Life House in Dixon. Our mom is happy now and we thank the wonderful and caring people at Solano Life House for giving her a new life. The first thing that I noticed about Solano Life House was their practical pricing policy. The fixed rate takes a lot of anxiety off the table and focuses on care. The second thing is the social nature of the common room and the halls. This is a place to make friends and do things with others even in the limited constraints of dementia. Then the most important thing comes into view - that way that the staff bonds with the residents and really cares for them. I'm very grateful to Porter and Mary and all of their staff for what they have done for our mom. It's all about her.

"My Mom has lived at Solano Life House 2 1/2 years. She is very happy there. She tells me all the time how nice everyone is! The atmosphere is home like, and the court yard is nice. She is safe and comfortable. I've seen constant improvements, and new ideas implemented to make it nicer always. It's a tough job, and i feel they do their best for everyone! Thank you all!!"

"My dad lives at Solano Life house and we are so thankful for them! They take such great care of him and show him each day that he still matters. They are very attentive and I have never seen a frown on any of the staffs faces. Mary is a awesome admin and everyone from the med tech's, kitchen staff and maintenance is so helpful and kind. My whole family is so appreciate how they care for my dad and we can sleep well at night knowing they are caring for him."

"We can't say enough good things about Solano Life House! The staff is so caring and attentive to their residents. The care and compassion they exhibit cannot be faked. The food is not institutional. It is appetizing, varied, well prepared, nutritionally balanced and is presented well. The common area is well lit, roomy, and there are activities to engage the residents. The courtyard and garden is a quiet respite. Perfect for sitting and watching the birds and savoring the flowers. Rooms are nice, whether as a single or as a double. Each has a private toilet and shower. While there may be fancier looking facilities, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more caring staff. My father was a resident for 8 months, before he passed. We knew when we visited that he was in good hands, and that we had made a good choice in placing him at SLH"

"My dad has been at Solano LifeHouse for 2 years. Since they hired a new director I have seen great changes. Staff is more attentive and someone is in charge. They now have a van and take the residents on outings. My dad is happy and loves the girls who care for him. Before the new director came I was going to move my dad to another facility. I am thankful that I held out to see if change would occur. It did, and I hope to keep dad at Solano LifeHouse until he is no longer with me. (as long as they keep striving for excellence.) It was the right choice for us. I can now leave my dad and take vacations without worrying. He is in good hands. Staff who truly care. I appreciate the fact that they don't graduate prices. The price you pay is set no matter the amount of care your family member needs. No surprises or hidden costs."

"I am so glad I found this place. It was very difficult to admit I could no longer care for my wife of 50 years at home and had to put her in a facility. My daughter and I visited several places and settled on this one based on its bright, airy and clean ambiance and our impressions of the staff. My wife has been here over two years now and the place keeps getting better. I visit her almost every day at lunch and can attest that the food is very good and with great variety. I observe the staff interacting with the residents, giving out lots of smiles and hugs, breaking out in dance when the music moves them, and just creating a joyful atmosphere. I for one am a happy camper. My feelings of guilt are melting away knowing that my wife is receiving .good and loving care. And the fact that that the rates here are so reasonable is just the icing on the cake."

"I visited this facility. I think Solano Life House was nice, but I don’t know if it will work with my father. The staff was very nice. The rooms were very clean and very nice. They didn’t have bad odor. The facility was good."

"My granddad has been at Solano Life House for years and everyone takes such great care of him. My grams was there before she passed and they were so wonderful and caring of her. The Day Staff is like a second family. We've gotten to know them on a personal level as well, they always check on us and give us updates on my granddad. The building and rooms are being updated and all the changes have been wonderful. The front room is so bright and welcoming. The staff is so caring of the residents and each other. The food has changed over the years; they use fresh food/produce and everything looks great. It doesn't have that nursing food smell that some places have. It may not look like much from the outside but your family member will get the best care here."

"There is nothing negative to say about Solano Lifehouse. The staff sincerely cares about each and every resident and treats each individual with respect. They truly understand the challenges of losing one's independence, and they make every effort to truly listen to each resident and to reassure him or her. If you are looking for a home where an elderly person will be confident, comfortable, loved, and respected, I highly recommend Solano Lifehouse."

"Solano Life House may not look impressive as one reviewer mentioned but that is not what matters. It is clean and well kept. The most important thing is that the residents are truly respected and loved by the staff. Debbie and Laura and their entire staff are kind, caring people. They completely "get" dementia and the strange things it does to our loved ones and they allow them to "be" who they are without judgement and always with loving support. They interact with the residents throughout the day as though they are family. They are also welcoming to family members. I come visit with our family pets and the residents and staff love it. I am so relieved that I found such a warm safe place for my mom."
